Meet FYF’s Livelihoods Manager, Khalida Nawaf Ilyas

This week on FYF’s “Meet Our Female Leaders” series, we are spotlighting our Livelihoods Manager, Khalida Nawaf Ilyas:

“I always believed that empowered women can empower women, and FYF gave me the power to turn this belief into action. There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise. There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish. Everything is within your power, and your power is within you.

I am very passionate about my work because we, as FYF, provide Yezidi and other minority women with holistic support and opportunities to improve their income generation capacities, enhance their chances for future employment, build support networks, and find their inner strength.

I believe supporting and providing vulnerable people with job opportunities, especially women, is one of the most critical ways to rebuild a community after genocide.”

Support our work!

FYF works to support the most vulnerable members of the Yezidi community by providing them with education, economic empowerment, post-trauma treatment, and access to justice. If you want your donations to have a real impact on the lives of women and children affected by conflict, please consider giving to FYF today.
