Meet FYF’s English Teacher, Berivan Hasso Sefo

This week on FYF’s “Meet Our Female Leaders” series, we are spotlighting our English Teacher, Berivan Hasso Sefo:

“I joined the Free Yezidi Foundation because it’s one of the few organizations in Iraq that is led by women and supports women in general, especially Yezidi women. We live in a society where there’s a huge difference between women and men in all sectors, especially when it comes to livelihoods.

Women often face difficulties accessing jobs due to problematic societal norms. This is why FYF provides women with opportunities to work and develop their skills and capacities. The organization empowers women to use their voices to create a better future where they are not reliant or dependent on others.”
