Who We Are
The Free Yezidi Foundation (FYF) is a humanitarian, apolitical, women-led non-profit organization formally registered in the Netherlands and the United States and registered to operate in Iraq. The Foundation was established shortly after ISIS attempted to eradicate the Yezidi people in August 2014. The Free Yezidi Foundation seeks to implement projects to protect and support the most vulnerable members of the Yezidi community.
FYF is virtually headquartered in the Netherlands and the United States, with its operational base in Duhok, Iraq. The Foundation is particularly engaged with services for Yezidi survivors, with a special focus on Yezidi women and children. FYF also works to assist for all Yezidis seeking justice and accountability.

Background
FYF provides humanitarian services for Yezidi survivors and for Yezidi women and children, with a special focus on trauma recovery and psychological services, economic empowerment, community reintegration, and education. The Free Yezidi Foundation pursues justice and accountability on behalf of Yezidis affected by ISIS crimes. FYF advances international awareness of the plight of the Yezidis and how to ethically address their concerns, playing an important role in promoting better and broader humanitarian and human rights support to Yezidis, including the rights of women and girls within the Yezidi community.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the ETC Manager and the oversight of the Country Director, the English Teacher will instruct classes as part of a broader training plan for beneficiaries. English Teacher is responsible for developing curriculum, developing and administering progress assessments, soliciting participants, tracking attendance, and supporting with donor reporting. The English teacher will teach English language classes independently, support fellow instructors/teachers, and collaborate with other teachers on joint classes. Experience in the humanitarian context (non-governmental organizations) is highly desired, as well as knowledge of various teaching techniques. The English Teacher will perform the duties and responsibilities inherent in this position under the project at the FYF Enterprise Training Centre in Khanke. This will be a full-time position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform several functions:
- Conduct outreach activities to promote classes and register participants.
- Making primary and exit evaluations for the participants.
- Ensure that the classroom stays orderly.
- Encourage students to read English out loud in class and assign reading material.
- Create tests for students and write progress reports.
- Track participant engagement.
- Assist other Instructors/Teachers with their tasks.
- Responsible for reviewing the designed the curriculum and making recommendations where needed.
- Collaborate with other Teachers on joint classes for Arabic language, resume writing, and job skills.
- Provide support to all beneficiaries of the FYF ETC.
- May perform additional duties as assigned (shopping, receiving FYF Centre visitors, etc.)

Qualifications
- Advanced education degree in a related field (education/English)
- Exceptional English language skills including written, verbal, and oral.
- Good Arabic language skills including written, verbal, and oral.
- At least, three years of experience working as an English Teacher.
- Preference given to previous experience working with international and local NGOs.
- Knowledge on various teaching techniques.
- Must have strong relationship with Yezidi community.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and humanitarian values.
- Proven ability to calmly, professionally, and successfully manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrates initiative and is comfortable working in a group as well as independently.

Upon Joining FYF
FYF has non-disclosure and liability waiver clauses in the contract for all employers upon joining the team. All paperwork and related documents will be managed between the time that the job offer is sent, and the incumbent begins work, including agreeing to the FYF code of conduct.
