Japanese Ambassador Expresses Solidarity with Yezidis

Khanke, Duhok

Japan’s Ambassador to Iraq, Futoshi Matsumoto, visited FYF’s Enterprise & Training Center (ETC) and listened to FYF staff members’ concerns about growing anti-Yezidi hate speech in recent weeks. The Ambassador and his delegation expressed solidarity with the Yezidi community and discussed what options can be taken to combat hate speech against Yezidis.

The delegation also toured the ETC, viewing and purchasing hand-crafted items made by Yezidis and sampling baked goods at the Sugar is Sweet cafe. Ambassador Matsumoto pledged continued support for the Yezidi community. FYF appreciates the Ambassador’s expression of solidarity in the midst of growing anti-Yezidi rhetoric.
