FYF Visits UNAMI – Erbil Office

Erbil, Iraq

FYF and religious freedom advocate Nadine Maenza visited the UNAMI Erbil office, meeting with Head of Office Ricardo Rodriguez. In the meeting, several topics were discussed, including the challenges facing displaced Yezidis, the barriers preventing families from returning, and the economic and cultural impact of persecution. In addition, FYF urged UNAMI officials to raise the issue of targeted assassinations of Yezidis, conducted by Turkey in air strikes in Sinjar, with UN Secretary-General Guterres on his visit to Iraq the following day.

FYF also invited the UN-Erbil office to visit its Enterprise & Training Center in Khanke. FYF is committed to the economic empowerment of the Yezidi community to improve daily life and a better future, focusing on women’s participation.
