FYF’s Protection Team Support Male Survivors

FYF’s protection team recently met with and provided support to a Yezidi male survivor to apply for reparations under the Yezidi Survivors Law.

The survivor, who is now 31 years old, was abducted with a group of Yezidi men, including his brother, on August 3rd, 2014. ISIS ordered them to convert to Islam, but they refused. ISIS shot the men in a mass execution, which led to the deaths of the survivor’s brother and the majority of the men. The survivor managed to survive and escape. He currently lives in a camp in the Kurdistan region.

The survivor commented on the protection team’s support:

“Through the Free Yezidi Foundation team’s care and support to me, I was able to apply to the Yezidi Survivors Law. I obtained my rights and was provided with the necessary support at my time of need. I would like to thank the Free Yezidi Foundation for supporting both female and male survivors.”
