FYF Provides Beneficiaries With Holistic Support Through Diversified Programming

Zarif Ali is a Yezidi woman who lives in Khanke IDP camp. Before the Yezidi Genocide, Zarif had limited access to education or livelihoods opportunities. Today, she works as an artisan at FYF’s Enterprise and Training Center, where she makes and sells handcrafted items, including FYF’s Chonky Animals.

In line with FYF’s holistic approach to programming, Zarif is also participating in FYF’s recently launched educational courses, which are available to all artisans working in the ETC. Zarif is hoping the courses will improve her communication skills in English and Arabic: “These courses are important because they offer Yezidi women and girls the chance to learn and develop themselves.”

FYF works to support the most vulnerable members of the Yezidi community by providing them with education, economic empowerment, post-trauma treatment, and access to justice.
