FYF Marks World Refugee Day
FYF’s Enterprise & Training Center and Sugar is Sweet bakery and café team members were invited to participate in a World Refugee Day event held by UNHCR on 20th, June 2022 in Duhok Conference hall.
Attendees praised FYF’s initiatives and noted FYF’s women leadership. Guests purchased a number of items hand-crafted by Yezidi artisans, and also complimented FYF’s bakery team members on the drinks and sweets. Attendees commented on the forward-looking nature of the bakery project, with the view to combating discrimination against Yezidis.
FYF’s Enterprise & Training Center and Sugar is Sweet bakery and café are open to everyone, including Iraqi and Kurdish community members and international guests of all ethnicities and religions, so long as Yezidis are treated with respect as equals. FYF expressed its gratitude to UNHCR for hosting us and thanked visitors for their purchases and moral support.
