FYF hosts Swedish donors at ETC

FYF was pleased to host guests from Sweden at our Enterprise & Training Center. Adan Anwar and his team donated funds, humanitarian goods, and provided for children’s birthdays at our Sugar is Sweet cafe.

The funding provided will help cover core costs for the facility, including raw materials, utilities, and costs for guards and cleaners and other such expenses. The humanitarian items were distributed or put to use in FYF facilities to assist beneficiaries. Finally, a portion of the funding was dedicated to providing birthday parties at the FYF Sugar is Sweet bakery and cafe for Yezidi IDP children, many of which have not celebrated birthdays at all. The gloom and hopelessness in the IDP setting is troubling, and uplifting days can help young Yezidis imagine a brighter future.

FYF’s Enterprise & Training Center and Sugar is Sweet bakery and cafe are two initiatives that are entirely run by Yezidi women. FYF supports them by providing space, knowledge, and experience to develop viable economic tools and financially support their families while also empowering other women and girls. FYF emphasizes the importance of Yezidi-led efforts, including business and enterprise.

We are grateful to the donors for visiting and making contributions to our facilities. Thank you for coming!
