FYF hosts renowned British journalist Christina Lamb
Christina Lamb, the winner of sixteen major awards, including the British Press Awards and the European Prix Bayeux-Calvados for war correspondents, was hosted at FYF’s Enterprise & Training Center.
FYF’s ETC is operated entirely by Yezidis, and we were delighted to have the opportunity to share our projects with Ms. Lamb. She observed our handcrafted items, freshly baked sweets, and listened to our beneficiaries’ stories and experiences. Ms. Lamb spent some time with them in order to demonstrate solidarity, learn their stories, and hear about their current needs. She also spent time with young Yezidi men who were kidnapped by ISIS and are now struggling to recover and build better lives.
FYF’s Enterprise & Training Center’s Crafts & Enterprise and Sugar is Sweet bakery are open to the public, including members of the Iraqi and Kurdish communities, as well as international visitors of all races and religions, as long as Yezidis are treated equally. FYF appreciates Christina Lamb for her emotional support, expressed solidarity, and acknowledged the tales and current needs of Yezidi genocide survivors. If given the opportunity, the Yezidi community can contribute to establishing better futures for them.
