FYF Country Director meets with Netherlands Consulate – Erbil
FYF’s Country Director, Hewan Omer, met with the Netherlands Consul General in Erbil, along with Consulate officials, to discuss the process of recovery for the Yezidi community and challenges that remain. The Netherlands consulate was screening a film about the rehabilitation of Yezidis who survived the Yezidi Genocide perpetrated by ISIS.
FYF is in regular contact with Netherlands officials to help prompt support to Yezidi civil society and aid in the recovery and business development of Yezidi society in Iraq. Ms. Omer urged the Netherlands officials to continue and scale up support to the Yezidi community to prioritize the recovery of endangered minority communities in Iraq.
