FYF Bakery Workers Highlights the Importance of Holistic Service Provision

Eman Khalaf Khudur, a Bakery Worker at FYF’s Sugar is Sweet Bakery and Café, highlights the impact of her job on her life.

“Before the genocide, I had a calm and simple life in Tel Banat in Sinjar, where we worked in the field and looked after our livestock. After the genocide, everything drastically changed, and we fled our hometown and came to Khanke to live in a camp where our living conditions are very difficult. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to attend a bakery course at FYF’s Enterprise and Training Center.

After the course, I was chosen to be a Bakery Worker at the Sugar is Sweet Bakery and Café. My job provides me with the ability to earn a living for my family. I also joined FYF’s educational courses to enhance my knowledge and be able to read and write. FYF has greatly contributed to many women’s lives and supported them in their development.”
