FYF and other Women-led Organizations Meet with UN

Today FYF joined a meeting convened by the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) human rights office for women-led organizations in Duhok province. FYF and other women-led organizations reviewed the programs they are currently implementing and the challenges and opportunities facing women in their communities.

 

Ms. Khalida Nawaf Ilyas, head of FYF”s Enterprise & Training Center, explained the critical value of education, training, and employment opportunities for Yezidis in general and Yezidi women in particular. She underscored how this is critical to women’s empowerment and the development of economic strength in the community as a whole.
