Changemakers Together: Exploring Solutions and Amplifying Voices

In January, FYF and Baghdad Women Association jointly facilitated a cohort meeting, bringing together more than 50 Changemakers from minority communities across Sharya, Sheikhan, Khanke, and Qaraqosh to connect, strengthen collaboration, and exchange advocacy strategies and approaches.

It was an incredibly empowering day, with women from so many different backgrounds coming together in one shared space. Conversations were open and honest, insights and knowledge were exchanged, and there was so much learning and mutual support. The sense of solidarity in the room made it clear that every voice mattered. 

This program, implemented in partnership with a consortium of four female-led Iraqi NGOs across nine locations in Iraq, will train 144 women to advocate for women’s rights, protective legislation on child marriage and violence against women, and equal access to education and jobs.

Together, we are building a stronger and more inclusive future for Iraqi women and their communities.
