Twelve years after the Yezidi Genocide began on 3 August 2014, Yezidis around the world continue to gather in remembrance of those who were massacred, those who survived, and the thousands who remain missing.

Twelve years have passed. Children have grown. Governments have changed. Cities have been rebuilt. Headlines have faded. The world moved on. We couldn’t.More than 2,500 Yezidis remain missing. Thousands of families remain displaced, and justice and accountability are still out of reach for many survivors. The needs, rights, and dignity of the Yezidi community have not yet been fully met.

Our community continues to call for meaningful action to ensure that Yezidis can live safely, freely, and with dignity in our ancestral homeland. We will continue to raise our voices, advocate for our rights, and demand justice for those we lost and those who survived.
