Meet our Justice Officer: Hazrat 

“I chose to work at the Free Yezidi Foundation because it doesn’t judge a woman’s potential by her education level or degree; rather, it evaluates her on the basis of her talent and abilities. I feel more powerful and independent because I am in a place where my opinion matters. I am thrilled to be working in this women-led foundation because we live in a country where it is difficult for women and girls to be independent, access jobs, and feel worthy. At FYF, you can be independent, know your rights, and gain self-confidence to believe you can do anything.

 

I realized in the first few months of my work with FYF that one of its priorities is to build the capacity of its staff, helping them discover their talents and grow. Coming to work daily empowers me to achieve more. 

 

As an interpreter for FYF’s justice work, I became aware of the importance of justice for vulnerable communities, such as mine, who suffered persecution for decades.”
