Finding Hope Through Craft: Maysa’s Journey at FYF’s Enterprising and Training Center

Meet Maysa, a Yezidi woman living in Khanke IDP camp, where daily life is filled with challenges and uncertainty.

Maysa is a proud beneficiary of FYF’s Enterprising and Training Center (ETC), where her talent for crafting handmade products has flourished. The income she earns from selling her creations not only supports her financially but also provides a sense of peace.

“When I knit, I relax and forget my worries,”

Mental wellbeing is a priority for Maysa. she says

“I’ve always wanted to become a psychologist to support my community,”

At the ETC, Maysa feels safe, supported, and empowered by FYF staff. She hopes more women will have the opportunity to benefit from these life-changing programs in the future.

You can support Yezidi women like Maysa by purchasing their handmade products. Every purchase directly empowers artisans to rebuild their lives and strengthen their communities.
