Invest in HER – A Year-End Commitment to Holistic Empowerment
As we approach the end of another year, let us come together in solidarity and compassion for female survivors of genocide and conflict-related sexual violence. The Free Yezidi Foundation’s “Invest in HER” campaign marks our collective commitment to providing comprehensive and holistic services that nurture the strength, resilience, and dignity of these survivors.
Our Achievements in 2023:
In the past year, thanks to the unwavering support of our donors, we’ve made significant strides in our mission to empower survivors. Here are some highlights of our achievements:
- Expanded access to trauma-informed mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services, reaching thousands of survivors and fostering holistic healing.
- Launched vocational training and education programs, equipping over a hundred survivors with valuable skills for sustainable economic independence.
- Championed the pursuit of justice, working towards fortified legal protection and accountability for survivors.
Celebrating Resilience:
In 2023, we celebrate the resilience of women who have faced unimaginable challenges. Their stories of strength and courage inspire us to continue our efforts to create a world where survivors not only survive but thrive. As one of our beneficiaries emphasized:
“I feel proud and empowered to be able to work and earn an income to support my family. In the past, many Yezidi women couldn’t work alongside men, but now we are confidently working and building a better life and future for ourselves.”
Our Vision for 2024:
As we look ahead to the coming year, our vision is clear – to further expand our holistic services and reach even more survivors. With your continued support, we aim to:
1. Broaden Access to Education:
Create robust and inclusive education programs that seamlessly connect secondary and higher education, empowering survivors to confidently pursue their academic aspirations. Education for survivors diminishes various vulnerabilities, such as financial dependency, domestic violence, and the risk of early or child marriage.
2. Strengthen Economic Empowerment Initiatives:
Expand our entrepreneurship programs that enable survivors to generate income through the creation of products or the development of their own small businesses. Such initiatives foster financial independence and stability among survivors.
3. Enhance MHPSS Service Provision:
Strengthen the capacity to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed mental healthcare aligned with international best practices and standards.
Your Impact Matters:
Every contribution to the “Invest in HER” campaign makes a tangible impact on the lives of survivors. Your support is not just a donation; it’s a lifeline, a symbol of hope, and a catalyst for positive change.
How You Can Contribute:
As we approach the end of the year, make a meaningful contribution to “Invest in HER”. Your support will directly contribute to the holistic services that empower survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and strength.
