British Consulate General Visits FYF’s Enterprise and Training Center

Last week, British Consulate General, Rosy Cave, visited FYF’s Enterprise and Training Center (ETC). FYF’s leadership gave the Consulate General and her staff a tour, explaining the different product lines that are produced in the center and the female genocide survivors who are employed and earn an income through the center’s sustainable activities. FYF staff emphasized how initiatives that are run from the ETC have contributed to shifting communal narratives around women’s place in society and the workforce towards inclusion.

The delegation and FYF staff also discussed the challenges and needs of the Yezidi community nearly nine years after the genocide, including the impact of protracted displacement, instability in Sinjar, and hate speech against the community.
