FYF Co-hosts Twitter Event to Combat Anti-Yezidi Rhetoric

FYF hosted a Twitter Spaces session to discuss the recent surge in hate speech targeting the Yezidi community in Iraq. The session, titled Condemning and Combating Anti-Yezidi Rhetoric, was led by FYF’s Executive Director, Pari Ibrahim, and Sinjar Academy’s President, Murad Ismael. A number of Yezidi and international experts joined the session. Speakers included Nadine Maenza, Alia (Yezidi Twitter activist), Naomi Kikoler, Haider Elias, Hadi Pir, Farhad Shamo Roto, Omar Mohammad (known as Mosul Eye), and Foreign Minister Safeen Dizayee on behalf of the KRG.

Hundreds of attendees joined the session, which addressed the myriad of ways to effectively condemn, confront, and combat rising xenophobia against the Yezidi community.
