FYF Participates in Japan National Day Event

FYF Country Director Hewan Omer met with Japan’s Ambassador to Iraq and Japanese diplomatic and humanitarian officials during Japan’s National Day event in Erbil. She reviewed the severe challenges still facing the Yezidi community many years after the Yezidi Genocide, as well as some initiatives to provide training, education, and employment opportunities to the community. Ms. Omer invited the officials to visit Yezidis and hear directly about the struggle and the aspirations of individual men and women trying to rebuild their lives.
