FYF Country Director marks international women’s day at NL Embassy – Baghdad

FYF Country Director Hewan Omer participated in the Netherlands Embassy event to mark International Women’s Day. Ms. Omer met with the Netherlands Deputy Ambassador and Embassy officials to discuss the situation facing Yezidis, the pursuit of justice and accountability, and other matters. She also met with the European Union Assistance Mission to Iraq and several other Iraqi and international stakeholders. FYF is grateful to the Netherlands Embassy for including us in the international women’s day event.

As FYF is a Yezidi women-led organization, it is important that our leadership is present to voice concern about minority rights and concerns as well as the challenges facing women and girls.
