To start off the holiday season, we are launching our End of Year Campaign, dedicated to giving childhood back to children living in IDP camps in northern Iraq — childhood that over a decade of conflict and displacement has taken away.

For many Yezidi families still living in IDP camps, daily life is defined by uncertainty, loss, and limited opportunities. In this environment, even simple childhood traditions, like marking a birthday, often disappear. These missed moments accumulate over years, erasing the small milestones that help children feel valued, seen, and hopeful.

This campaign is our effort to restore those moments of joy, to remind Yezidi children that their lives deserve celebration, and to help families reclaim a sense of normalcy after years of disruption.

Support FYF’s End of Year Campaign to bring joy, celebration, and a sense of childhood back to Yezidi children in 2026. Your contribution will sponsor a birthday celebration at FYF’s Sugar is Sweet Café, giving children who have grown up with displacement the chance to experience a day that is entirely their own. 

LOCAL WOMEN AT THE HEART OF EVERY CELEBRATION

Your generosity not only creates meaningful memories for children, but also strengthens the community by supporting local Yezidi women who handcraft the gifts, bake the cakes, and thoughtfully prepare every detail of each celebration. These women design, organize, and host every party with care, transforming simple ingredients and limited resources into memories that children carry with them long after the candles are blown out.
